Hjemmelaget fly foran en hytte på Kvæfjordeidet. Flyet var konstruert av Sigurd og Ludvig Gaare. Flyet ble dratt langs snøen for å gi nok fart til å lette. Flyet havarerte imidlertid under et slikt forsøk og ble knust. Nils Gregussen var pilot.
