Gult, stramt tøifor. Per Terje Norheim, desember 2021: This helmet is made for firefighting or firewatching. It is constructed along the lines of an iron helmet for war use, made of pressed leather or papiermache with 16 simulated plates, a so called sujbachi i.e. helmet bowl with ridges. The peak has two indentions and a gold laquered part along the bowl. There is no regular neck guard, shikoro, but six points laquered in gold and with fasteners for the attachment of a cloth neck guard. At the front two big deflectors, fukigaeshi, with gilt heraldic devices in the shape of a butterfly, cho. Butterfly mons were used by a large number of Japanese families, including some of the most illustrious ones. There is a hole in the top and surrounding that a five layered mount, tehen kanamono.
