Bildet viser den nå gjenfylte og glemte Håkonsjøen på Bjølsen. Sjøen var en gang en stor kulp i Akerselva med et så rikt badeliv at både busstopp og veinavn like ved heter "Badebakken".
Inger Munch, søster av Edvard Munch, testamenterte ved sin død i 1952 ca 200 negativer til Oslo Bymuseum. Blant dem negativene til de fleste bildene i hennes bok "Akerselven", utgitt i 1932.
