Modell av en buckyball, et fotballformet molekyl oppbygd av 60 karbonatomer. Det finnes naturlig, men ble oppdaget i et laboratorium i 1985. Molekylets symmetriske form utnyttes innenfor medisin og en rekke andre fagområder. Molekylet symboliserer nanoteknologi.
Model of a Bucky ball. A molecule with 60 carbon atoms that has the shape of a football. It occurs in nature, but it was first discovered in a laboratory in 1985. Its unique symmetrical shape is used within medicine and other sciences. It has since turned into a symbol of nanotechnology.
